INTERNET: Required for secure HTTPS communication between the app and our backend servers.RECORD_AUDIO: Requested only if you choose to use the optional Speech-to-Text feature for dictating letters or reflection answers. 3. Artificial Intelligence & Gemini Data Privacy
Bonded integrates the Google Gemini API (gemini-2.5-flash) to provide an empathetic emotional companion. We enforce strict AI data safeguards:
- Stateless Transmission: Text entries submitted for reflection reactions or mood check-ins are processed statelessly solely to generate real-time feedback.
- No Public AI Model Training: Your private reflections, letters, and feelings are NEVER used to train, retrain, or improve public AI or machine learning models.
- No Data Selling: We never sell, rent, or trade your personal content or reflections to advertisers or data brokers.
4. Third-Party SDKs & Services
Bonded utilizes only trusted, Google Play compliant SDKs:
- Google Gemini API: For AI-driven companion analysis and love letter safety evaluation.
- Firebase (Google LLC): Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics for app crash stability.
- SMS Gateway Provider: For delivering single-use OTP authentication passcodes to your phone number.
5. Security & Data Retention Policy
All data exchanged between the Bonded app and our backend servers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS 1.3 protocols. In accordance with our data minimization principles:
- Notification history logs are automatically purged after 5 days.
- Active user account data is stored securely in encrypted server databases until you choose to delete your account.
6. Account & Data Deletion (Google Play Mandate)

If we discover that a child under 13 has registered an account, we will immediately delete their information.
